FRANK B. RUTLEDGE Jr.

RUTLEDGE JR., FRANK B. Long time Demopolis resident and business man Frank B. Rutledge, Jr., age 94, died May 12th, 2012. A pharmacist who, with his father, Frank B. Rutledge Sr. and brother, Fred Rutledge were owners of F.B. Rutledge & Sons Drugs and F & F Drugs for many years. He was born in Columbus, GA, the son of the late Frank B. Rutledge, Sr. and the late Daisy Kirn Rutledge. He was a graduate of Demopolis High School and Auburn University. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1945 and was the Commander of the LST 487 in the Pacific. He was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, serving as senior warden several times, was president of the Demopolis Rotary Club and also served as a member of the Demopolis City Council. He was an avid golfer and a lifetime booster of Auburn University. He is survived by his wife, Eloise, (Toni) W. Rutledge, a son, Frank (Rut) B. Rutledge, III (Jo) of Tuscaloosa, AL, a daughter, Robin Rogers (Steve) of Lake Jordan, AL, five grandchildren, Stephen Matthew Rogers (Erin), Frank Pearson Rogers (Elisha) and Dashiell Rogers Miller (Norman) of Deatsville, AL, Joseph Austin Macon and John Hinton Macon (Sarah) of Birmingham, AL seven great grandchildren and a brother, John Fredrick Rutledge (Mary). There will be a memorial service at Trinity Episcopal Church on North Main Street in Demopolis, Saturday, May 19th at 5:00 P.M. The family will receive friends in the Parish Hall from 5:30 to 6:30. A private burial service will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Gallion, AL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, P.O.
