SAWNSEA, S.C. — Charlotte Ruth Jones Ivey, 83 Horsefeathers Lane (Big Beaver Creek area in Calhoun County) Swansea, SC, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Dukes Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Shane Stutzman officiating. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends after the burial at their residence.
Mrs. Ivey was born in Hendersonville, NC, a daughter of the late Norman Reed Jones and Lula Mae McCarson Jones. She was the wife of James "Jim" Macon Ivey. She had been a tax preparer with the Internal Revenue Service. Mrs. Ivey attended Northside Baptist Church in Orangeburg. She had been a resident of Calhoun County since 1980, where she and her husband operated a successful pick-your-own blueberry and scuppernong farm.
Survivors include, her husband of the home; daughters, LeLynn Koch (Jeff) of San Antonio, TX, Eileen Ivey of Columbia; sons, Norman Waylon Ivey (Theresa) of Columbia, Joel Matthew Ivey (Shelley) of Swansea; sisters, Sarah Moore of Hendersonville, NC, Mae Kyser of Ellwood City, PA; eight grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Norman "Bubber" Jones and Albert Jones, and one grandchild, Hannah Ruth Ivey.
