MT. DORA, FLA. — Bennie Lee Brisson peacefully joined his mother, Cara Powers Brisson, and his father, Manly Mathuel Brisson, in the house of the Lord on October 17, 2015.
He was born November 20, 1933, in Dublin, North Carolina and moved to the central Florida area in the early 1950's.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley M. Brisson of Mt. Dora, FL; his treasured brothers Billie Ray of Raleigh-Durham, NC, and Wallace Mathuel of Elizabethtown, NC. As a loving "Daddy," he also leaves his devoted children, Richard Eric of Richmond, VA, Nicki Lynn of Miami, FL, and Kimberly Ann (Rosenfeld) of Miami Beach, FL. As their precious "Papa," his legacy of goodness and decency will live on in his beloved granddaughters, Brett Ashley Rosenfeld of Brooklyn, NY, Callie Nicole Rosenfeld of Manhattan, NY, and Kenson Dallas Moore of Mt. Dora, FL. Many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews will also remember him fondly.
Bennie was a kind and gentle man who never met a person he did not like, never uttered a harsh word toward anyone, and lived his life as though "every day was a holiday and every meal was a banquet." He was genuinely kind-hearted, honorable, and loving, and will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him as a shining example of all that was good in this world. Bennie's final resting place will be in Dublin, NC, where the sun will forever shine down upon him in brilliant Carolina blue. Local services are pending.
