ELIZABETHTOWN — Mr. Harvey Cleveland Coble, 89, of 2209 Old Fayetteville Rd. in Garland, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, at Bladen County Hospital.
Born on April 16, 1927, Harvey was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Coble and Ruth Elmina Cain Coble. He was a crop and swine farmer for 70 years. Mr. Coble was preceded in death by his son, Harvey Kenneth Coble, and his daughter, Kathy Coble Averitte.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at Friendship Baptist Church, 1989 Bull St., Garland, with the Rev. Gary McMillan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Evelyn Evans Coble, who was the love of his life. He also leaves behind a son, Darrell Evans Coble, of Garland, and one sister, Jane C. Howard, of Garland. He was blessed with six grandchildren, Kenny, David, Brittany, Darrell Ray, Jonathan and Mary Beth Coble, and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
