RALEIGH — Mrs. Janice Harrelson Pope, 76, of Davis Street in Clinton, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, with her family by her side.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 408 College St., Clinton, with Dr. Ray Ammons officiating. Burial will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
Born on May 23, 1939, in Elizabethtown, Janice was the daughter of the late George W. and Vernell Lennon Harrelson. She retired from Lundy Packing Co. after 39 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church and very supportive of the gospel music industry.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Janna Faison and husband, Plato, of Clinton; her son, Jeffrey Pope and wife, Christine of Fayetteville; two sisters: Gail Venable of Brownsville, Wis. and Melody Matthews of Clarkton; and three brothers: George, Herchel and Paul Harrelson, all of Elizabethtown. She was also blessed with three grandchildren: Wyman and Ella Faison and Patrick Maitland; and three great-grandchildren: Paige Maitland, Patrick Maitland, Jr. and Alyssa Maitland.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward "Jack" Pope; her sister, Hilda Pope; and two brothers, Carrol Lennon Harrelson and William Lee Harrelson.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2 p.m., and other times at her daughter's home, located at 105 Fox Hollow Drive, Clinton.
