MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Johnnie Ellis Johnson, age 66, from Calabash, N.C., died on Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was born in Fort Sill, Okla. on Oct. 8, 1949, to the late Ellis and Berdie Mae Jones. He was a branch manager for Bank of America.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Gail Stone Johnson, of the home; a son, Robby Freeman (Vanessa) of Lumberton; daughters, Marcia Freeman Floyd (Calvin, Jr.), and Amy Freeman West (Steve) both of Lumberton; a brother, Charles Michael Johnson, of Fayetteville; a sister, Linda Johnson Coryell (Tom) of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Ali, Calleigh, Mason, Morgan, Jacob, and Layla; several nieces and nephews; and special buddy, "Gizmo".
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at 4 p.m. at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with the Rev. Joe Bounds officiating. A time for visitation will follow the service at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.
