WINSTON-SALEM - Mary Lois Long Cain, 78, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Pas. Bobby Roberson and the Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Gur Cemetery.
A native of Bladen County, Mary was the daughter of the late Ethel Foley and George Norman Long. She graduated from Garland High School Class of 1955. She was a longtime member of Faith Baptist Church and most recently Gospel Light Baptist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years Burnie Ray Cain of the home; son Kevin Cain and Tracy of Kernersville; granddaughter Sara Cain of Kernersville; sisters Frankie Smith, Georgia Renn, and Cathy Rich; brother Tony Long and Johnnie; she was "Mother" to Lenae Stone, Robin Griffith, and Kim Griffith; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family will visit with friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Thursday at the church, and also following the interment service in the Gospel Light fellowship hall. Friends in the Bladen County area may visit on Saturday, Aug. 15, at the old George Long homeplace.
