Tonnie Brooks Thompson Sr.

FLORENCE, S.C. — Tonnie Brooks (TB) Thompson Sr., a native of Bladen County, went to be with his Savior at age 70 on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at 3:30 a.m. He was residing in Florence, South Carolina, at the time of his death and was at home. He worked as a supervisor in construction before he retired because of his health about five years ago.

He was the son of the late Wilbert Anderson Thompson and Iretha Smith Thompson, both deceased, of Dublin, North Carolina. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy Blackburn Thompson; an infant son James Anderson (Jeffrey) Thompson; and a grandson Cameron Scott Pait.

A memorial service for Thompson will be conducted at 3 p.m. at White Oak Baptist Church located at 9724 HY 53 W, White Oak, North Carolina on Saturday, November 22. Prior to the service there will be a wake 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

He was survived by his wife M. Mary Harris Thompson of Florence; his children Tonnie Brooks Thompson Jr. and his wife Alison Parrett of Scottsboro, Alabama, Ronda Thompson Stroup of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Renee Michelle Pait married to Scott Pait of Dublin, North Carolina, Kimberly D. Floyd wife of Tony Floyd of Seaboard, North Carolina, Jeff Vent and his wife Alexis D. Vent of Florence, South Carolina and Erica D. Saunders of Virginia; 10 grandchildren, Christa Adair Sutton, Tiffany Stroup Renfroe married to Nick Renfroe, Joseph Watson Stroup, Courtney Lynn Pait, Caitlyn Pait, Dustin W. Floyd, Daniel H. Floyd, Brittany N. Floyd, Sierra Vent, and Kaitlyn Vent; and four great-grandchildren: Hannah Belle Allen, Brayden Cole Sutton, Brooks Anderson Renfroe, and Kenzleigh Floyd.

In addition, he is survived by his brothers Houston Anderson Thompson of Elizabethtown, North Carolina, Julius Ray Thompson of Texas, and Wilbert Wayne Thompson of Bladenboro, North Carolina and a sister, Jane Thompson Pait of White Oak, North Carolina.

He is also urvived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
