MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Willis Gardner Lockamy, 66, of Myrtle Beach, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013.
He is survived by his wife Shirley; son Russ Lockamy; daughter and son-in- law, Andrea and Niall Anderson; two grandchildren, Jackson and Isabella; sister, Judy Ryan; brother, Gene Lockamy; stepmother, Myrtle Lockamy; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. E. P. Lockamy Sr. and Vira Collier Lockamy; sister, Mae Shaw; and brother, Edward P. Lockamy Jr.
Will was a native of Bladenboro, N.C., graduating from Bladenboro High School before earning a bachelor degree in business from UNC Pembroke and was employed by McLane Company in corporate sales.
Will was an active member and deacon at First Baptist Church North Myrtle Beach. He was past captain of Oasis Shrine Dune Cats and past master of the James K. Polk Masonic Lodge.
He will be remembered for his generous nature, sense of humor and was a true southern gentleman.
A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 200 Hwy. 17 South and 6th Avenue, North Myrtle Beach with Pastors John Gambrell and Myron Pritchard officiating. Visitation will follow immediately in the fellowship hall.
