RAMSEUR — Larry Steven "Steve" McLean, 54, of Ramseur, died Saturday, May 3, 2014, as a result of a tragic motorcycle accident.
A native of Bladen County, he was born Aug. 17, 1959, and was the son of the late James C. McLean and Dorothy Driggers McLean.
Steve loved life and his "free spirit" was quite evident when he was riding his Harley which he greatly enjoyed. He had a love for family and especially the time spent with his little grandson, Wes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jackie M. Deaver, and an infant brother. He attended North Asheboro Church of God.
Steve is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lisa East McLean; two sons, Larry "Taz" Todd and wife, Tosha, of Bladenboro, and Casey Brent McLean and fiancé, Courtney Sims, of Ramseur; one daughter, Candace Eve McLean and fiancé, CC Page, of Albemarle; two brothers, James McLean and Gary McLean and wife, Patty, of Bladenboro; three sisters, Karen Ritenour and husband, Harry, of Lumberton, Sharon Heustess and husband, Eddie, and Judy McLean, all of Bladenboro; his grandson, Wes Page; and two loving and special aunts, Betty M. Afton of Wilmington and Shirley D. Grubbs of Turtle Creek, Pa.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at noon on Friday, May 9, at the North Asheboro Church of God, 1373 Tabernacle Road, Asheboro, with Pastor Scotty Daniels officiating. Interment will follow Friday afternoon at the Lewis Cemetery in Bladenboro.
The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday, May 8, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., and at other times at the home at 5146 Gracewood Road in Ramseur.
