Dalton, Bruce  
ARDEN-Bruce Dalton, 69, of Arden, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Ellis Clephon Dalton and Faye Elizabeth Reed Dalton. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Gooch. A proud United States veteran and former driver for Van Wingerden, Bruce is survived by two sons, Kyle Dalton and Eric Dalton; one grandson, Brandon Dalton; one great-grandson, Bryson Blaze Dalton; two sisters, Tia Fuller and Jennifer Bryant Pearson and two brothers, John Ellis Dalton and Parris Mitchell Dalton. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. A memorial guest register is available at www.grocefuneralhome.com.

Fite, Irene (Bishop) - Hendersonville  
HENDERSONVILLE-Irene Bishop Fite, 101, of Hendersonville, died Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Pardee Hospital. A native of Asheville, NC, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Conner Bishop. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George William "Bill" Fite, a WWII Army Veteran, sisters, Haleen Warren, Lucy Betz, and Betty Wahl, and brothers Jim, Wilkie, Hugh, and Dick Bishop. Mrs. Fite retired from American Enka. She was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. She is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Searcy of Atlanta, and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with her nephews, the Rev. Randy Bane and Bridger Bane officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family expresses appreciation to Dr. James Caserio and to the staff of Hendersonville Health and Rehab Center for the loving care they provided to Mrs. Fite. Gray, Jay Lowell  
HENDERSONVILLE-Jay Lowell Gray, 88, of Carolina Village, died peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2015, at CV Medical Center. He was born in McDonough County, Illinois on September 18, 1926, to the late J. Howard Gray and Letha Eliza Havens. Jay graduated from Bradley University in 1948 at Peoria, Illinois. Jay started with Carrier Corp. and became affiliated later with Air Comfort Corp. in Broadview, Ill. A company in Indiana was acquired and he was promoted to Exec. V-Pres. in charge of the Indiana Division. When a new building was built in Merrillville, Indiana, it was dedicated as The Jay L. Gray Building. Jay met and married Shirley Marie Powell, his former secretary. Jay was affiliated with Theta Xi Fraternity, a life member of ASHRAE, Masonic T.J. Pickett Lodge in Bushnell, Ill and Shriners International. Retiring to North Carolina in 1987, they lived in Brevard, Mills River, Etowah and most recently, Carolina Village. Together, they ran the Blair House Gifts & Accessories for 8 years on 25N with their little dog, Abby. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Shirley; one sister, Dana Speer and two nieces. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 23 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hendersonville, with Pastor Ken Langsdorf officiating. There will be a reception following the service. LAFOLLETTE, Tenn.-Grady Lowe, age 66, of LaFollette went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 18, 2015, at 10:30 am. Born in Jellico, TN to Harry and Myrtle Lowe. Grady was a four year veteran of the US Navy during Vietnam, and a veteran of the Mundelein, IL police force. Burrell, Charles C.  
HENDERSONVILLE-Charles C. Burrell, 80, of Hendersonville, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, was promoted to glory on May 18, 2015, from Carolina Village Medical Center after a brief illness. He was a son of the late Grover C. and Arrilee Anders Burrell. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy R. and Robert W. Burrell and two sisters, Nina B. Pace and Pauline B. McAbee. Charles was a lifelong resident of Henderson County and was educated at Flat Rock High School. He served in the United States Army as a radio repairman in Italy. He always loved the out-of-doors and was a well-known nurseryman and landscaper in Hendersonville, and later an avid golfer. Charles was an active member of Mud Creek Baptist Church. After his retirement, he and his wife resided at Carolina Village in Hendersonville. Charles is survived by his wife of 57 years, Yvonne King Burrell; two sons, Charles Russell Burrell and wife Elizabeth of Hendersonville, and D.L. Burrell and wife Jennifer of Tucker, Georgia; a brother, Fred D. Burrell; two sisters, Carolyn B. Stepp and June B. Pace; five grandchildren and one great-grandson. The funeral service will be held at Mud Creek Baptist Church at 2 pm on Friday, May 22. The Reverends Greg Mathis and Christopher Roberts will officiate. Private interment will take place at Shepherd Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at Mud Creek on Thursday, May 21, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mud Creek Baptist Church, 403 Rutledge Drive, Hendersonville, NC 28739.
