Ellen Singleton


DANA - Ellen "Jeannette" Singleton, 74, of Dana, died Monday, April 8, 2013, at the Elizabeth House following a lengthy illness with dementia.
A native of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Carl Burgess and Minnie Lee Taylor. She is also preceded in death by three brothers, Ambers W. Burgess, Marion C. "Beaver" Burgess, and Walter M. Burgess.
Jeannette was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. She was known for her enjoyment of the outdoors and fishing.
She is survived by three children, Melissa Norris, Brian Singleton, and Tricia Burgess; six siblings, G. Billy McGuinn, of Black Mountain, E. C. "Junior" Burgess and his wife, Pat, Hubert L. Burgess and his wife, Gail, Ronnie Burgess and his wife, Nancy, and Sandra B. Walker, all of Hendersonville, and Neysa Gail Green and her husband Marshal of Asheville; five grandchildren, Lauren, Jessica, & Parker Norris and Ashley & Cameron Singleton.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013, at the home of her sister, Sandra Walker, at 130 Willowbrook Road, Hendersonville, NC.
