FLAT ROCK-Kathleen McGaha Thompson, 75, of Hendersonville, NC passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 after a lengthy terminal illness.
She was born in Transylvania County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wade and Winnie Patterson McGaha and a son, Wendell Lee Thompson.
She had worked at the Hendersonville Country Club and Henderson County Department of Social Services.
Kat was a happy person even while sick and was a great mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by two sons, Jack Warren of Concord, NC and David Thompson of Forest City, NC; nine grandchildren, Brandy Netherton, Brandon, Brendon, Chris, Gregg and Brad Thompson, Andrew Justice, Carter and Sydney Warren; seven great grandchildren, Brooke and Jessica Netherton, Avery, Caleb, Carson, Aubrey and Kala Thompson and two long time friends, Sue Banks and Geneva Galloway.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the Hillside Commons Community Center with Jack Warren officiating.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Pardee Hospital, Hendersonville Health and Rehab and the Elizabeth House.
