Ruth E. Prazak

HENDERSONVILLE - Ruth Prazak slept away in her studio apartment at the Carolina Village Medical Center early Sunday morning, March 23, 2013.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue Carol Grabski and son-in-law, Timothy Grabski.
She was born in Chicago, Ill., to Carl and Signe Johansson and was preceded in death by her brother, Victor Johansson and sister, Esther Gungle.
She was married for 55 years to Frank Prazak, Jr., who died in 1993.
Ruth had a busy and exciting life. She was a licensed cosmetologist for many years before becoming a real estate saleswoman in Western Springs, Ill. She also worked in high-end retail and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star before retiring with her husband to Hendersonville. She was an avid traveler who loved cruising and went on many trips with Tim and Susie. She circled the world twice and in her mid-eighties, accompanied a friend to South Africa since Ruthie was a "younger and very experienced traveler". Little Ruthie was loved by all who knew her and was famous for her radiant smile and quick wit. The unanimous reaction upon meeting her was "She's so cute!" She loved animals and out-lived two rescue "kitties". She was the perfect mother and friend and is missed terribly.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Carolina Village for their wonderful care.
A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, who were so supportive to Ruthie and her family.
