Charles Benjamin Soules Obituary
MOORESVILLE-Charles Benjamin Soules, 83, of Mooresville, NC, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014, at the Genesis Eldercare in Mooresville.
He was born on November 13, 1930, in Peakville, NY, to the late Henry and Ruth Space Soules. Charlie was a disabled veteran, serving in the US Army during the Korean War, where he earned the Combat Infantry Badge (CIB) and Purple Heart. He retired from Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, NJ, where he was employed as a Physical Science Technician. He was a life member of the VFW and DAV. He was past commander of Post 5206 in Hendersonville, NC, Post 3175 in Greenville, NY, and a life member of Post 2031 in Statesville, NC. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 77 in Hendersonville, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce, Pat, Sandy and Judy and a brother, Henry Jr. Charlie is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Mary Patricia Soules; daughters, Debra J. Hulse and husband, Tom, and Shari L. Dailey; sons, Terry C. and Darrell T. Soules and wife, Marlene; sister, Bernice (Bunny) Wilson; brothers-in-law, Bob Weyrauch, Tom Brophy and wife, Cathy; sister-in-law, Brenda Sanok; nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Additionally, he was loved and admired by family members and many dear friends. Charlie, we thank you for your service and we thank God for your life.
No services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlie's honor may be made to the "WELCOME HOME VETERANS, INC" (www.welcomehomeveteran.org) in Mooresville, NC.
