ASHEVILLE - Eileen Pfeiffer Perrin, 86, of Givens Estates, passed away on March 9, 2013, at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Raymond A. Perrin, Jr., and daughter, Kathleen P. Southard and son-in-law Brian D. Southard, of Tellico Village, Tenn.
A Detroit native, Eileen received a BS Degree in Retail Merchandising from Ohio State University in 1947. She loved fashion and worked as an Assistant Buyer for Crowley Department Store in Detroit after graduation. In 1951, she married Ray, who she met in junior high. They moved to the Chicago area in 1953. In 1987 they retired to Hendersonville – a place they remembered from their honeymoon drive to Florida. In 2005, they moved to Givens Estates.
Eileen loved and was active in her church. She traveled extensively with Ray and was always planning her next trip. Eileen enjoyed needlework, sewing and knitting; gardening, and reading. Most of all, she loved being with her family and many friends.
A memorial service celebrating Eileen's life and resurrection will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville, 204 Sixth Avenue West. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Givens Estates Residence Assistance Fund, 400 Wesley Drive, Asheville, N.C. 28803 or CarePartners Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, N.C. 28813.
