HENDERSONVILLE - Helene Ziegler, 100, of Hendersonville, died on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Carolina Village Care Center. A native of Shamokin, PA she was born on April 5, 1913 to the late George Culp and Minnie Hornberger Culp. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Mark A. Ziegler; and her two brothers, Charles and Walter Culp.

A graduate of Penn State University, she received a degree in education and worked as a home economics teacher in Teaneck, NJ for many years. She was a member of First Congregational Church, Hendersonville; Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority at Penn State, PEO Chapter and the Hendersonville Garden Club.

She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia DeStefano and her husband, Joseph, of Hendersonville, Marilyn Hutton and her husband, Dean, of Seneca, SC; three grandsons, Frederick DeStefano of Hendersonville, John DeStefano of Hendersonville, Andrew Hutton and his wife, Megan, of Kernersville; her granddaughter, Laura Hutton of Charleston, SC; two greatgrandsons, Henry T. Hutton and Daniel Hutton both of Kernersville and many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private burial at a later date.
