Morris Edgar "Andy" Clark Obituary
MORGANTON--Mr. Morris Edgar "Andy" Clark, 80, of Morganton, went to his Heavenly Home on Wednesday December 25, 2013 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Valdese, after a period of declining health.
Mr. Clark was born March 1, 1933 in Starks, LA, a son of the late Ira Edgar and Ollie Doyle Clark. Morris was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Valdese and a US Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a former resident of Hendersonville, NC where he retired after 27 years of service from Kimberly-Clark, Inc. Mr. Clark was a Mason for over 55 years and a member of the Catawba Valley Lodge # 217, Morganton.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Clark and two grandsons, Johnny Paul Clark and Daniel Leon Clark.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Johnnie Sue Armstrong Clark of the home, a daughter, Pam Walker and husband Bill of Morganton, his beloved grandchildren, Morrissa and Jake Angi of Valdese, Jaimeson Walker and Samantha Walker both of Morganton. Also surviving are his favorite sister-in-law, Deborah Jenkins of Clinton, TN., brother, Wayne Lamar Clark of Melbourne, FL, and four sisters, Elouise Dorato of Asheville, Patsy Scott of Coco Beach, FL, Peggy Thomas of Knoxville, TN, and Jackie Nadine of Elkton, MD.
A Service of Remembrance for Morris Edgar Clark will be held at 10:00 AM on January 2, 2014 in the Chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 962 Old US 70 Hwy., Black Mountain, NC, with Rev. Mike Costner officiating. Military Honors by the National Guard and Caldwell County Honor Guard, and Masonic Rites by Catawba Valley Lodge # 217 will follow.
