SALUDA-Norman Ellis "Bear" Moore of Saluda, born July 1, 1934 passed away at his home on September 13, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Asalee Allan Moore; brothers, Charles, Bob, Gene "Bud;" and sister, Margaret Bryson.
He was a gruadute of East Flat Rock High School, he had served in the US Army and was a building contractor. Bear loved baseball and riding his Harley.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years Yvonne Nix Moore; brothers, John and his wife Janet, Jerry and his wife Soyna, and Roy; sister, Dorothy Verlon Nickelson; and sister-in-law, Linda Moore.
A graveside service was held Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Saluda City Cemetery, with the Rev. Myron Bradley officaiting.
Military graveside rites was conducted by the Hedrick-Rhodes V.F.W. Post #5206, Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post #77 and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #14.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of the Carolinas Fooothills 130 Forest Glenn Drive, Columbus, NC 28722.
