HENDERSONVILLE-Ralph Collins Mackey, 84, of Hendersonville died Wednesday January 29, 2014 at Pardee Hospital.

Mr. Mackey was born July 22, 1929 in Burkesville, KY to the late Hiram Alexander and Pauline Collins Mackey. An Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Mackey was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was married to the late Carolyn Elizabeth Mackey.
Ralph was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. A hard worker and true provider, he retired from General Electric after 35 years of service. After retirement he sold produce with his business partner Jim Laughter. He never met a stranger and leaves behind many friends. He was an avid sportsman and fan of the Kentucky Wildcats, Duke Blue Devils and Atlanta Braves.
In addition to his parents and wife, He was preceded in death by a sister Joyce Shaw and a brother Donald Mackey.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy M. Pack and husband Terry and Rosanne M. Gundersen and husband Rick; four grandchildren Aaron Pack, Ashley Y. Rieger and husband Ben, Juliet P. Thomas and husband Blake, and Kaitlyn Gundersen; three great-grandchildren Elijah Thomas, Roman Gundersen, and Jonah "Cash" Thomas. Other survivors include two sisters Joann Petty and Paula South.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday at Thos. Shepherd's Church Street Chapel with Rev. Stacey Harris officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. Burial with military honors will be a Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
