Obituary Condolences

HENDERSONVILLE-Richard Bishop Reinhardt, 83, passed on October 22, 2013 at Four Seasons Elizabeth House.
He was born on January 11, 1930, to Genieve Phillips and Clark William Reinhardt of Medina, Ohio. After graduating from Baldwin Wallace College, Dick was drafted into the Army and served 2 years in Korea. When he returned home, he enrolled in Northwestern University's graduate business school, where he met his wife, Joan Ellen Berger. Dick's first job was as a cost accountant with Kimberly Clark in Kimberly, Wisconsin. A transfer to Berkeley Mills brought him to Hendersonville from Childersburg, AL, with Joan and daughter Laurie in 1959.
After subsequent moves to Wisconsin, Georgia and Texas, Joan and Dick returned to Hendersonville, where he had his own tax practice and eventually retired. In his early years in North Carolina, he was active in the Kiwanis Club and has been a longtime member of the Hendersonville Country Club. His membership at First Church of Christ, Scientist brought him many opportunities to serve. He enjoyed participating in Barbershop chorus, playing golf, and travel with friends. He loved to swim and was an avid bridge player.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joan, and daughter, Laurie Bennett (Wallace), of Atlanta, and two grandsons, Wallace M. Bennett, III, of Atlanta, and Richard William Bennett, of Nashville; a brother, Allen Phillips Reinhardt (Alice), and two nieces, Alison Lockwood (Graeme), and Alaine Kaminsky (Craig) and their children, Callie and Eli Kaminsky, all of Orlando.
The family is very grateful for the excellent Hospice care at home and at Elizabeth House.
At his request, there will be no service. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at two o'clock on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at The Oaks clubhouse.
An online register book is available for family and friends by visiting www.thosshepherd.com. Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors and Cremation Memorial Center is in charge of arrangements.
