HENDERSONVILLE-1st Sgt Rodric Vance Dalton was called home to meet our Lord Tuesday July 08, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his father Dennis Dalton Sr.
He graduated from Edneyville High School in 1975, attended Mars Hill College. He received his Bachelor degree from Excelsior College. Rod joined the Army in 1983. He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Rod received the Bronze Star for bravery in combat among other accolades. Rod retired after 22 years of service in 2004. He was a ROTC instructor at Radford University and VA Tech from 2007. He retired in June 2014.
He was a member of Mountain Home Baptist Church.
Rod was dedicated to his family and country and was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather and brother.
Rod leaves behind his wife Gail Hudspeth Dalton of 32 years, their children, Adam Dalton, Travis Dalton, and daughter Aaron Dalton Graves and husband Clark, and grandson Dennis Franklin Graves, his mother Joyce Kidd Dalton, two sisters, Lois Dalton Fulcher and husband Daniel and Pamela Dalton Reese and husband Tim and his Big brother Dennis Dalton Jr. [Eddie] and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday July 12, 2014 at Mountain Home Baptist Church at 2pm with the Rev. Craig Garren officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Henderson County Honor Guard and Fort Bragg.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4PM to 6PM at Jackson Funeral Service.
