SPIRO, Okla.-Stephen Lanier Hensley of Spiro, Oklahoma was born on October 20, 1930 in Brevard, North Carolina to Floyd and Clara (Ducker) Hensley and passed away July 22, 2014 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 83 years.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents and one sister; Jean McCall. Stephen was a member of Victory Worship Center in Spiro, Oklahoma, and also a member of the Fleet Reserve Association. He retired from the U.S. Navy serving his country for 20 years in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Stephen then retired as sheriff's deputy and under sheriff for Leflore County, he was also head of security at Blue Ribbon Downs. He loved his church family and enjoyed gardening, yard work and fishing.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014 at Victory Worship Center of Spiro, Oklahoma with Brother, Reverend Bryan Fouts and Assistant Michael Monroe officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery of Spiro, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Don Sebo, Justin Sebo, Clint Craft, Gerald Fouts, Mike Walker and Phillip Evans. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Milton Miller, Bob Ikenberry and Tracy Chadwick. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mallory~Martin Funeral Home of Spiro, Oklahoma.
