Bill also served on the Blue Ridge Community College Board of Trustees.
He was the son of the late William R. Farrell and Abby (nee Gaillard) Farrell. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an older infant sister, an infant grandson, an infant great granddaughter and son-in-law.

Bill was a really special guy. A New Yorker whom we can all be most proud of.
He was a 'doer' and a huge asset to many aspects of this community. He was a really 'great 'guy', always prepared to help in his unique and special way.
Our sincere condolences....

I had the pleasure of working with Bill on the Hendersonville Planning Board. He was a thoughtful and engaged member of the board and always had the community interests in mind. On a personal note, I always enjoyed our conversations either before or after the meetings when we would talk about our mutual love of travel, his latest excursions and his family and their accomplishments. My thoughts go out to his wife and family.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
