HENDERSONVILLE-- Alfred "Al" Quadrine, 93, of Hendersonville, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Carolina Village Medical Center. He was born on March 25, 1921 in White Plains, New York, to the late John and Felecia Fraoili Quadrine. Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mae Quadrine, who died in 2010, as well as two brothers and two sisters.
Al served in the United States Army as a Master Sergeant during World War II. The stamina and determination needed to be a Master Sergeant set the groundwork for Al to succeed in a career in heavy machinery construction. He was a tough and well respected construction superintendent for over 45 years. Until he retired in 1983, he was a member of Board of the Farm City Committee, the Apple Country Engine and Tractor Association, the Historical Construction and Equipment Association as well as the North American Model Engineering Association all in New York.
After Al and Virginia retired to Hendersonville, they became very active in the community. Al was a dedicated member of the Kedron Masonic Lodge AF & AM #387, as well as the V.F.W. Post #5207.
Al is survived by his brother, Frank Quadrine of Philadelphia, PA, who is 101 years "young." He is also survived by his nephew, John and niece, Arlene as well as a very special friend, Ernest Ball and William Newton both of Hendersonville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM, Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Immaculate Conception Church with Father Martin Schratz officiating. The Knights of Columbus will serve as Pallbearers for their fellow member, and brother in Christ.
Inurnment will follow at a later date at Shepherd Memorial Park Mausoleum.
