Mrs. Rice is survived by her son, James (Jimmy) Douglas Rice, Jr. and wife Claire of Atlanta, GA; daughters: Joyce Rice Corn of Hendersonville, Pat Ogle and husband Phillip of Swannanoa, Susie Curtis and husband Kevin of Hendersonville, and Terri Rice of Weaverville; grandchildren: Billy Corn and wife Charman of Hendersonville, Travis Bradley of Folsom, CA, Jon Parker of Candler, Jennifer Corn of Hendersonville, Jason Corn of Bozeman, MT, Joey Parker of Hendersonville, Sebrena Nash and husband Joey of Leicester, and Felicia Curtis of Hendersonville; eleven great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Ray Branch.
Private graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, where she will be buried next to her husband. The Rev. Ervin Nash will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank the many caregivers of Asheville Health Center in Swannanoa who took such loving care of their mother for the past nine years.
"In the sweet bye and bye, we shall meet on that beautiful shore!"
