NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.-Bonnie Russell Denton, 87, wife of the late George W. Denton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at the home of her daughter, Janice (Rev. Frank) Hyder, Beech Island, SC.
Born in Santa Monica, CA and a longtime resident of North Charleston, SC. She was the daughter of the late E. L. and Hettie Stowell Russell, Bloomington, CA. She was preceded in death in 2008 by a daughter, Sharon D. Drummond, Greer, SC; three bothers, Clarence, Leon, and Elson Russell, CA; and a sister, Lena Guilliam, Fontana, CA. She was the bookkeeper at Denton Construction, Inc. for many years in Hendersonville, NC, but took such pride in being a homemaker during 68 years of marriage. She was an active member and faithful volunteer at Riverbluff Church, (previously Midland Park Baptist), North Charleston, SC, serving in the nursery as well as the ministry center on Wednesdays and stuffing bulletins every fifth Friday. Previous to moving to Charleston, she served the Lord faithfully at West Hendersonville Baptist, Hendersonville, NC for over thirty years.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice (Rev. Frank) Hyder, Beech Island, SC; two sons, Wayne (Betty) Denton, Hendersonville, NC; Robert L. Denton, Woodway, TX; one sister, Doris (Otho) Trusty, Beaumont, CA; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 21st at Riverbluff Church on 5421 Riverbluff Parkway, North Charleston, SC with Rev. Curt Bradford officiating.

An informal reception for family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2014 in the West Hendersonville Baptist Church fellowship hall at three o'clock in the afternoon.
Inurnment will be at the Lower Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery in Hiawassee, GA on August 17, 2014.
