Obituary Condolences

Donald Arthur McAllister Sr., 98, died on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Carolina Care Center Hendersonville, NC. He was born in Princeton, Ontario, Canada and had previously lived in LaGrange, IL and a resident of Henderson County since 1983. He was the son of the late Lyman Herbert and Sarah May Harris McAllister. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Wilma L. McAllister who died in 2006 and two brothers: Stanley and Charlie and one sister Grace Butcher.
He retired from International Harvester Corp. in 1980 with 40 years of service as the Marketing Director. He was a member of Hendersonville 1st United Methodist Church and the Johnson Sunday School Class. Donald was a member of the Kedron Lodge #387 of which he was a 33rd degree Mason. He was also a member of the Hendersonville Shrine Club. Total he had 60 years as a Mason and 50 years as a Shriner.
He is survived by two children: Donald A. McAllister, Jr. and his wife Joanne of Washington Township, MI., and Carlone K. Geiger and her husband Richard of Mooresville, IND, and two grandchildren: David A. Geiger and Christine A. Sample both of Indianapolis, IND.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Hendersonville 1st United Methodist Church with Christy Sharp officiating. Burial will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Shiners Hospital for Children c/o Hendersonville Shine Club P.O. Box 1901, Hendersonville, NC 28793.
