Fate English Obituary
HENDERSONVILLE-- Fate English, 69, of Hendersonville, North Carolina was called home by our Lord and Savior on March 9 2016. He had battled cancer for over seven years and died peacefully surrounded by family. Fate was born in Yancy County to Vance and Annie Lea English on April 20th, 1946.
In his early life, Fate moved to Henderson County to work at Biltmore Dairy Farms as a route salesman. He would stay with Biltmore for 15 years and during this time he met his wife, Judy. They were married in December of 1968.
Fate and Judy opened up a gas station on Spartanburg Highway in the late 1970's where they would begin an automotive repair and auto body shop facility, rent out Ryder trucks and provide towing services. From that point on Fate thrived in the county to build the business the residents came to know as Fate's Towing.
Fate was a passionate man who became and integral part of the community. He cherished his family, friends, and his dogs and had an avid interest in restoring antique cars. Above all else, Fate was a devout Christian who faithfully lived by the word of the Lord.
Fate is survived by his loving wife Judy English, his sons Christopher (Chris) and Gabriel (Gabe), his two daughter-in-laws, Teresa and Holly; four grandchildren; his sister Lois, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support through Fate's life. In celebration of this life there will be a procession down Main Street in Hendersonville on Sunday March 13th at 1 p.m. and all are welcomed to attend. A memorial service and visitation will also be held at Mud Creek Baptist Church with a visitation at 2 p.m. and the memorial at 4 p.m. on Sunday March 13th.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations designated for the English Family Excellence in Automotive Systems Technology Scholarship may be made to Blue Ridge Community College Educational Foundation at 180 West Campus Drive, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
