Obituary Condolences

SANTA FE – Jack was born in Enid, Oklahoma to Carl and Winnie Farris. After graduating from high school he joined the U.S. Army to fight in World War II. He saw combat in Germany and was headed to the Philippines when the war ended. After discharge, he returned to Oklahoma, married his life mate, Mildred Ruth Johnston, obtained his degree in electrical engineering from the University of Oklahoma and joined the General Electric Company. During his 33 years with GE, he worked in Cincinnati, Oh., Ft. Wayne, In., New York City, Hendersonville, NC, and Pittsfield, Ma. After retirement, he and Mildred moved to Pagosa Springs, Colorado and spent a majority of their time traveling around the country in their RV. They ultimately moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Jack is survived by Mildred, his wife of 68 years; his son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Melissa Farris; his daughter, Becky Miller; grandchildren David, Jennifer, Becky and John; and great grandchildren Eva and Rose. He cherished the love of his family.
A memorial service for Jack Farris will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 14 at the McGee Memorial Chapel, 1320 Luisa Street, Santa Fe, NM. Reception to follow.
