ATLANTA-James Temple Heller was born on April 27, 1934. He passed away on April 26, 2014 at home in Atlanta, GA after a long illness.
Jim was born in Janesville, WI to William and Edna (Temple) Heller. He grew up Janesville. Jim graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a Bachelors' degree in Chemical Engineering (1956) and an MBA Finance (1958). Jim worked for Eastman Kodak Co. as a Financial Analyst until 1992.
Jim met Frances Irene Dashley, and they were married on May 15, 1965. For more than 42 years Jim and Fran built a beautiful marriage and family with three daughters. Jim and Fran lived in Pittsford, New York until 1992 before retiring to Flat Rock, North Carolina. Fran passed away on September 11, 2007. Jim later moved to Atlanta GA to be near two of his daughters and his grandchildren.
Jim was a life-long United Methodist. He was an avid supporter of the conservationist mission of Trout Unlimited delighting in the restoration of trout streams and the education of young people to appreciate and understand the value of native streams. He enjoyed photography and traveling. A highlight for Jim and Fran was a photographic safari in Kenya. He was passionate about his family and grandchildren. He was unfailingly kind and loyal.
A memorial service was held April 28, 2014 in Johns Creek, GA. Jim will be missed by his three daughters, Valerie and Andrew Burgess of Uniontown, PA; Stephanie Heller of Marietta, GA; Lauri and Louis Montoya of Suwanee, GA; two grandchildren, Caleb and Emme Montoya; a cousin, Jon and Marianne Haney of Orange, CA; extended family, and many friends.
