Jo Ellen (Plemmons) Maybin Obituary
ZIRCONIA-Jo Ellen Plemmons Maybin, age 61, of Zirconia died Saturday, October 4, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Catawba County May 16, 1953 to the late Joseph Gaston Plemmons and Edith Clara Keith Plemmons. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ray Plemmons, Jack Plemmons, Clarence "Bud" Plemmons, and Pearl Plemmons.
A longtime resident of Henderson County; Mrs. Maybin was a homemaker; she was a "Gospel Artist" she enjoyed singing and songwriting. She was a member of Mountain Valley Baptist Church in Zirconia where she served as a music director, piano player, Sunday school and Awanna teacher, and as the Benevolence Ministry director.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert "Bobby" Fate Maybin of the home; her son, Chadwicke Robert Maybin and his wife, Tammy; her daughter, Kylee Klairece Odom and her husband, Marshall; grandchildren, Nicholas, Madison, Alexa, Victoria, Grayson, Jakeb, and Elizabeth; her brothers and sisters, William and Gin Plemmons, Earl and Judy Plemmons, Cricket Plemmons, Peggy Corn, Carl and Mohe Maybin, Elsie and Donald Levi, and Steve Maybin; nieces and nephews, Darin Maybin, Rhonda Moore, Jeff Maybin, Lamar Levi, Donieca Henderson, Christina Maybin, Linda Hoke, Bobby Plemmons, Carolyn Arnette, Jo Plemmons, Pam Carland, Rick McCall, Jack Plemmons, Jr, Cathy Wells, Pam Hensley and Sheri Franklin.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Mountain Valley Baptist Church with the Reverend Shannon Owen and Reverend Roy Waldrup officiating. Burial will be in Pearson Cemetery. Music will be provided by, Lamar Levi, Gwen Head, Diane Buckner, and Sam Beddingfield. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
