John L. Fink Obituary
Devoted husband, father and friend
John L. Fink, 72, went home to be with The Lord Tuesday, Mar. 11, with his family by his side.
John was born Dec. 31, 1941, in Bridgeville, PA, to John Fredrick and Edith Mae Fink. In 1968, he enlisted and served his country in the US Army. While living in south FL, he was employed with Carolina Freight, as well as being a residential builder, he and his wife, Pamela Fink, volunteered much of their time working with the blind, teaching them to water ski and snow ski. After moving to the Hendersonville area of NC in 1979, he and his wife continued to volunteer their time with MANNA Food Bank, helping those in need.
His friends remember him as being a caring and generous man that was always willing to lend a hand or offer advice. With a great passion for driving a truck, he prided himself on his abilities behind the wheel and keeping his truck clean. Some referred to him as "Papa-John", but all knew him as an honest, hardworking, man of his word.
His family remembers him as being a great father with a firm hand. A man who spoke his mind and never passed up a chance to share his knowledge and wisdom, but above all, a man proudest of his family's unity and love for each other.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Pam Fink; four children, Kimberly Newman, Candace Clugh, John Fink, and Jeff Fink; nine grandchildren; sister Lois Quiggins; and many, many friends.
A memorial service will be held at Double Springs Baptist Church on Saturday, March 15, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to P.O. Box 423 East Flat Rock, N.C. 28726.
