Joseph John Krause Jr. Obituary
Joseph John Krause Jr., died Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Elizabeth

He was born November 20, 1923 in Detroit, MI., to the late Lottie and
Joseph; who were 1st generation immigrants. He was the middle son and was
preceded in death by his older brother Bill and his younger brother George.

Dad served in the Mighty 8th army air corps stationed out of Deopham Green,
England as a flight engineer/ top turret gunner on a B-17 Fly Fortress
named the ""DOL"" during the late winter and spring of 1944 completing 30
missions when the life expectancy for a bomber crew was 4 missions before
coming home.

Dad met Mom and they were married in 1947. They enjoyed 60 years together
before mom passed away on Oct 19, 2007.

Together they built a successful heating & cooling business, Krause's Home

In 1984 dad was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and had to sell the
business but this did not define them or stop him. They just changed
direction and continued on with life. They bought the ""3 Apple Farm"" in
Jackson MI and began Metal Folk Art before moving to Mesa AZ in 1993.

Mom and Dad moved to Hendersonville NC in 2005. Kathie and I are very
thankful for the time we had with them.

We want to thank Four Seasons Hospice for their compassionate care of our
father and helping us thru this hard time. Also, we'd like to thank
Melanie for the gift of one last smile.

He is survived by two sons, Michael and Richard Krause, and a grandson
Geoffrey Krause.

Dad will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC at a
time yet to be determined.
