Juanita R. Stepp

Obituary Condolences

TUXEDO - Surrounded by family and music, Juanita Ruth Stepp went to be with her Lord on Feb. 8, 2013. She is now singing with the angels and marching around the throne. Born on June 15, 1925, Juanita was the devoted daughter of John Franklin and Ida Bradley Taylor, and sister to Estelle Lewis and Willie Corn Seay-all of who met her when she entered Heaven. Also awaiting her arrival were her husband, Arthur, and son, Tony. Arthur was the love of her life, and we know that they are strolling over Heaven, hand-in-hand. They dedicated their lives to sharing God's love across the country, bringing the sacred drama "I Dreamed I Searched Heaven For You" to churches for many decades and leading untold numbers of people to accept God's salvation. The God Juanita worshipped and celebrated in song has now welcomed her into love, peace, and eternal life.
Juanita was first a childhood member into marriage at Tuxedo First Baptist Church. With Arthur, Robert and Corrie Coggins, she helped to found Brickton Baptist Church in Fletcher and then came back to Mountain View Baptist Church in Tuxedo. She worked at J.P. Stevens for more than 50 years. A harder worker could not be found.
Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Sandra McMinn and her husband, Rick (Tuxedo); a son, Danny, and his wife, Sharon (Saluda); six grandchildren: Jessica McMinn Nuzzo (Mike), of Daytona Beach, Jamie McMinn, of Pittsburgh, Matt McMinn (Katie), of Statesville, Mark Stepp (Karen), of Hendersonville, Vicki Stepp Peters, of Saluda, and Sean Stepp. Additionally, Juanita enjoyed the love of several great-grandchildren and many dear friends and family members.
A service to celebrate her journey to Heaven will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Thos. Shepherd's Church Street Chapel with the Revs. Harold McKinnish and Bobby Capps will officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A private burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers and food, the family requests that remembrances be made to Council on Aging, Meals on Wheels 105 King Creek Boulevard, Hendersonville, NC 28792 or to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 581 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731. The family gratefully acknowledges both organizations for their loving care. The family would also like to extend a very special debt of gratitude to Janice Owens who saw to this precious woman's needs and was a tireless companion to her.
