Kenneth Fred Summey Obituary
HENDERSONVILLE-Kenneth Fred Summey, age 82 of Hendersonville passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 31st, 2015 following an extended illness. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bertha Summey.
Ken was a lifelong resident of Henderson County. He retired from the Eaton Corp. in 1994 to his farm. Throughout his life and retirement he enjoyed gardening, caring for his animals on the farm, and watching Atlanta Braves Baseball. He was also a dedicated member of the Edneyville Community.
Ken had a strong faith and relationship with God. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Kings Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for over 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Lamb Summey of the home; his daughter, Kathy and her husband, Kenny of Greer, SC; his sister, Emily; and his niece, Susan of Hendersonville.
Ken's family would like to extend a special thank you to Four Season's Compassionate Care for the dedicated loving care and hospice support they delivered during this difficult time.
Ken's family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to their church family at King's Grove. They cannot possibly express their gratitude for all the love, kind acts, and support the church has delivered during Ken's illness.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015 at King's Grove Baptist Church conducted by the Reverend Phillip Capell. Burial will follow the service in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends this evening, Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in Thos. Shepherd's Church Street Chapel.
