HENDERSONVILLE - Marion P. Reinhold, of Hendersonville, died Dec.2, 2012, at The Elizabeth House after a sudden illness.
She was a resident at Spring Arbor Assisted Living in Hendersonville. Marion was born in Boston, Mass., to Arthur H. and Mary Jane (Molly) Forbes. She married John H. Austin (deceased) in 1942. They had three children. In 1982, she was married to Herbert Edward Reinhold until his death in 2006. Marion worked as an office clerk and especially enjoyed managing the cosmetic counter at Zayre in Miami and the gift shop at Everglades Safari in Florida and worked at The Brass Pony in Hendersonville. She was an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville, and in Lakeland, Fla. She loved gardening, and was a member of the South Dade Amateur Orchid Club while living in Miami. Marion enjoyed traveling, fishing, crossword puzzles, reading, and music but most of all being with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, H. Edward Reinhold; sister, Marjorie F. Islieb, and son, Bruce F. Austin, of Moultrie, Ga.
She is survived by daughter, Linda A. Brown and husband Sherrill Raymond Brown, of Hendersonville; son, Glen R. Austin and wife Aline, of Thomasville, Ga. She will be sadly missed by grandchildren, Bruce F. Austin Jr., Amy Thompson, Melissa Khaophachanh and their mother Tootsie Austin, of Jacksonville, Fla.; Christopher S. Brown, of Chicago, Ill., and Jeffery Brown, of Hendersonville, and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Covenant Presbyterian Church of Hendersonville by Pastor Don Taws.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church for God's Garden fund or to Four Seasons Elizabeth House in Flat Rock.
