1925 - 2015 Obituary Condolences
Hendersonville-- Mary Alice Byles Fisher passed away in Hendersonville, NC on October 17, 2015 after a long illness. She was born February 4, 1925 in Perrine Florida and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Marvin Franklin Byles and Carrie Touchton Byles, a sister Katherine Rotter, a brother William Byles and her youngest son James Michael Fisher.
Mary lived a full life attending the University of Alabama where she joined Alpha Chi Omega and enjoyed flying as a stewardess for Delta Airlines of Atlanta Georgia. She will be remembered as a loving mother, for her wonderful sense of humor and her beautiful smile. She worked as a real estate broker in Henderson County, and she was instrumental along with her family in the development of the residential communities 'Woodhaven Estates' and 'Pleasant Hill' both of Flat Rock, NC.
While based in Atlanta she met the love of her life Carl Byrd Fisher and together they lived in France, Germany, McLean Va., Tucson, Ariz., Niantic, Ct., and then Flat Rock, NC. for 38 yrs.
She is survived by her husband of 67 yrs. Carl B. Fisher, Sr., her eldest son Carl B. Fisher, Jr. and wife Ellen, three grandchildren Taylor Forrest Fisher and wife Laurie of Chapel Hill, NC., Elizabeth Fisher Burleson and husband Wesley of Charlotte, NC., Anderson Lee Fisher of Charlotte, NC., and great granddaughter Brooklyn Marie Fisher also of Chapel Hill, NC.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 Friday, November 6, 2015 in the Chapel at St. James Episcopal Church Hendersonville, NC with Reverend Dr. Joel Hafer officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests Memorial contributions be made to Four Seasons Hospice at 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
