Mildred J. Rogers Obituary

PISGAH FOREST - Mildred Jamerson Rogers, 85, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on March 15, 2013, at her residence.
She was a daughter of the late William Andrew Jamerson and Alma Jean Crowe Jamerson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clifton Rogers; two brothers, Charles and Larry Jamerson, and a sister, Idell Berry.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Transylvania County. She is described by her family as a homebody. She was always available for family and friends to drop by at anytime. She always had Sunday lunch ready for family and anybody that wanted to stop by. She was encouraged to move several times and her response was "How would anyone find me? I better stay put because everyone knows where I live." Her happiest times were when she had grandchildren and great-grandchildren by her side. She was by far the greatest "Nanny" ever.
Having worked at several convenience stores during her life, she has met many people whom all enjoyed seeing her and talking to her. Whenever out in public, people would stop her to say hello and tell her how much she was missed at Quickway. Her boss wouldn't let her retire because she was like a permanent fixture there. Customers threatened to not shop there if she wasn't working.
She is survived by four sons, Mike Rogers (Maria), of Pisgah Forest, David Rogers (Beth), of Charlotte, Andy Rogers, of Brevard, and Kenneth Rogers, of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Annette Rogers, of Rosman; two brothers, William Jamerson, of Walton, Ind., and Robert L.
