Obituary Condolences

HENDERSONVILLE - Norman Carroll Stepp, 56, of Hendersonville, went home to be with the Lord suddenly and peacefully at his home on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Clyde Sr. and Lucille Markham Stepp; grandparents, Homer and Frances Markham, and his very best friend and chosen brother, Charlie Wallace.

He was a kind, generous and loving man who loved his "Girls" and his "Little Mister" more than anything in this world. He was a hard worker, honest almost to a fault, and he valued family above all things. You always knew where you stood with Norman. He meant what he said and said what he meant, nothing more, and nothing less. He had a quiet intensity that could fill a room. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a very grounded and centered presence. He was a very loyal and devoted friend. He loved his family and friends, he loved nature, he loved his dog "Tater," he loved golf, he just loved. He was his family's rock. He leaves an unimaginable void in their lives that can never be filled and that will forever be felt. There are just no words that will ever do justice to the man and spirit of Norman Stepp.

He is survived by his wife of nearly forty years, soul mate, and best friend, Suprina McCullough Stepp; an adoring daughter, Courtney Leigh Stepp; his grandson and light of his life, Tyler Ellis Stepp; two brothers, Alan and Bill Stepp; sister and brother in law, Cynthia and Steve Ward and a nephew, Ryan Ward . He is also survived by his parents-in-law, James ""Buddy"" and Sue McCullough.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mud Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Mathis officiating. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hendersonville Rescue Mission, 639 Maple St., Hendersonville, NC 28792.

An online register book is available for family and friends by visiting www. thosshepherd.com.

Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors and Cremation Memorial Center is in charge of arrangements.
