FLAT ROCK-Paul Littleton Smith, 88, of Hendersonville, NC passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Elizabeth House.
He lived in Henderson County for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Zula Lane Smith, five brothers, Bobby, Ray, James Hiner, Charles, Bill, and two sisters, Mary and Maebell.
He served in the US Air Force during WWII as a bombardier and gunner on a B-24 Liberator assigned to the 514th Bomber Squadron. He was a member of the Hedrick Rhodes VFW Post #5206, The American Legion and the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marion Garver Smith; a son Greg Smith and his wife Michele of Denver, Colorado; a daughter, Shelley Andrus of Hendersonville; three grandchildren, Chastopher, Autumn and Kamdyn; one great grandson, Zach and several nieces and nephews. Paul was a loving father, husband, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Chapel In The Pines of Jackson Funeral Service with Rev. Steve Briggs officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Henderson County Honor Guard.
