Ron and his wife, Linda moved to Hendersonville in 1987. Since then, he has been very active in the Hendersonville Civitan Club, from which he received many awards and held the office of President, and the Henderson County American Red Cross, especially working with the ATC blood program. In 2006 he received the state celebration of excellence Ed Welch Award for Outstanding Achievement in Blood Services from the Carolinas Region.

Ron enjoyed hiking the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, making many good friends. He also frequented the Henderson County Library, one of his favorite places, making many friends there, too.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Hachet; son, Christopher Hachet and his wife, Kim and their children, Elizabeth, Joel, Joanna, Daniel and Christina of Columbus, Ohio; daughter, Melissa Hachet Duarte and her husband, Marcus and their children, Samuel and Sarah Grace of Black Mountain; and by one sister, Sue Hachet Brtis and her husband, Steve; nephew, Matt and his wife, Kathleen; and by one great-nephew, Landen and niece, Lori Brtis all of Woodland Hills, California.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 15th, 2018 at Thos. Shepherd & Son.
