Ronald Cleveland Culp Jr. Obituary
HENDERSONVILLE-Ronald Cleveland Culp, Jr., 71, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
Mr. Culp was born in Elkins, WV, the son of Ronald & Mollie Cooper Culp. Mr. Culp grew up in Buckhannon, WV and graduated with a BA degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College as a member of the National Honor Society, majoring in history and a valued member of the varsity basketball team. He served as a second lieutenant in Vietnam from 1967-1969. He was retired from a career as an insurance agent, also having been a banker and a restaurant owner. Mr. Culp served his community as well as the vice-president of the Edneyville Grange.
He is survived by his children David Culp and Shelley Dunn; his grandson Michael Dunn; his sisters Rosemary Lee Naylor and Sandra Kay Tucker; his Aunt Edna Naylor; his former wife Karen Bacher; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to send special thanks to his friends, caregivers and his VA family.
Dinner hosted in honor of Mr. Culp will be held at Edneyville Community Center, Edneyville NC, Tuesday August 11, 2015 at 4:00PM
Burial services at Mountain Home National Cemetery Wednesday August 12, 2015 at 2:30 PM.
