Ronald Eugene Nixon Obituary
HENDERSONVILLE-Mr. Ronald Eugene Nixon, 57, of 309 5th Avenue West, Apt. 4B and formerly of Burlington, died on January 4, 2014 at Pardee Hospital, Hendersonville. The son of the late Mr. Reamus Nixon and Mrs. Fontella Torain Nixon of Waldorf, MD, Ronald was unmarried.
He is survived by two brothers, James Burney (Viola) and Carlton Nixon (Carlene) both of Burlington; two sisters, Cassandra Corbett and Gina Nixon both of Waldorf, MD; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Reamus Nixon, Jr., James (JW) Freeland, Wadell "Mickey" Freeland.
He was employed at J & S Cafeteria. He loved to play music for various churches, which included Ebenezer United Church of Christ, The Blessed Sacrament both of Burlington, NC, Our Lady of Grace in Greensboro, NC, Immaculate Conception Church in Hendersonville, NC where he also was a music teacher. He was currently a Minister of Music at Oak Forest Presbyterian Church of Hendersonville. He loved to travel, loved people and spending time with his family.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 1:00pm in the Roy Blackwell Chapel of Blackwell Funeral Home-Burlington with Rev. Michael Thompson of Arches Grove delivering the eulogy and Pastor David Goodwin of A True Way Deliverance Church Int. in Suitland, MD officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, January 10, 2014 one hour prior to the service; Public Viewing will be Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 1:00-8:00pm in the Roy Blackwell Chapel of Blackwell Funeral Home-Burlington; At other times, the family will receive friends at 2745 Westchester Drive, Burlington, NC.
