Shane Harrison Obituary
Shane Harrison, 40, of Hendersonville, died unexpectedly on January 8. Shane was born in Waynesboro, Tennessee, and lived an itinerant lifestyle, traveling throughout his life between Tennessee and Florida, until reaching his final peace in North Carolina. Shane was a graduate of Wayne County High School in Tennessee. Following a stint at Columbia State Community College, Shane moved to Pensacola, Florida, where he worked on boats and cars and performed stand-up comedy at local comedy clubs.
Shane was the consummate performer and entertainer. He brought laughter and happiness to all those around him. Shane's first love was his family, and his second love was performing. Shane always had an affinity for music, and after moving to Orlando, Florida, he fronted a local progressive rock band. He was a talented musician, and passed his love of music to his beloved daughter, Alyssa.
Shane moved to the Asheville area in 2010 to be close to his family. He professed a love of the mountains and people of western North Carolina, and enjoyed mountain biking and hiking. Shane is survived by his daughter, Alyssa Harrison of Orlando, his mother, Rebecca Harrison, of Hendersonville, brother Scott Harrison, of Orlando, and sisters Dawn Harrison and Carrie Wilsey of Hendersonville. He was also the favorite uncle of his four precious nieces, Sarah, Evangeline, Juliet, and Olive. Shane will be dearly missed, and will hold a place in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of Shane's Life will be held Friday, January 15, 2016 at 10am at First Baptist Church of Hendersonville. Condolences may be made online at www.AshevilleMortuaryServices.com
