Tressie L Albertson Brown Obituary
HENDERSONVILLE-Tressie L Albertson Brown, age 97 passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation. She was born in Transylvania County to the late George F. Lawson and Rosie Chapman Albertson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Carney Albertson, siblings Amos Albertson and Vera Ward, her children Warren Albertson, Loyce Stephens, Verbia Peacock, Betty Hill and Hoyt Albertson.
She retired from a long career at General Electric Company. She and her husband are both members of Maranatha Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, a wonderful cook, care-giver and loving grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending church, travel and camping with her husband, and spending time with her many grandchildren. Her compassion for others extended into providing home care for the elderly following her retirement.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Brown; her son, Gene Albertson and wife Epo; her grandchildren, Danny and Mary Wilson, Gail and Doyle Nicholson, Charlotte Evett, Virginia Mangiafico, Billy and Elizabeth Carol, Teresa and David Crowder, Lisa and Keith McKinney, Vicky and Michael Collins, Jonathon Albertson, Josh and Annie Albertson, Kenny and Lynn Albertson, Carol and Sammy Ross, Kimberly Albertson, Stephanie and Eric Edney, Kevin and Vikki Albertson; step-son, Roger Brown; 24 great-grandchildren; 17 great great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 30th at Maranatha Baptist Church, 2511 Old Spartanburg Rd, East Flat Rock, NC with Reverend Lewis Staton and Pastor Eddie Conard officiating. Burial will follow in Shepherd Memorial Park .The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home of Ernest Brown, 848 Mount Airy Street, Hendersonville.
