Veronica Sulger Obituary
Hendersonville-- Veronica "Bonnie" Sulger, 96, died on Friday, October 9, 2015 at the Life Care Center of Hendersonville. Daughter of Elizabeth Tiernan Jepson and Alfred H. Jepson, she was born in Long Beach, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Frederick Sulger and her older sister, Dorothy J. Husson. She was a long time member of Immaculate Conception Church in Hendersonville, NC.
Her marriage to Arthur was delayed during World War II while Arthur served in Alaska and then New Guinea and Bonnie served in the United States Naval Reserve in Virginia. They married in June of 1944 and had three children, Deborah Stefanini, Stephanie Sulger, and Arthur Sulger, JR. Arthur, Bonnie, and the youngest daughter Deborah moved to Camp Smith in Peekskill, where Colonel Sulger was commandant until his retirement.
Arthur and Bonnie spent their long retirement in Palm Beach, Florida and Hendersonville. In North Palm Beach they owned and operated the Islander Motel for several years. Bonnie became a noted quilter and won many awards for her quilts. They also were able to indulge their love of boating and sailing, making many memorable trips to Ho-Hum up and down the East Coast Inland Waterway with their many friends.
Veronica "Bonnie" Sulger will be interred with her husband Arthur in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC. She is survived by her three children.

A Memorial Service will be held at The Lady of Our Angels Chapel at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, November 3, 2015. The family will receive friends immediately after in the St. Francis Room.
