HENDERSONVILLE - Reid Enloe McConnell, 86, of Hendersonville passed away Sunday at Mission Hospital in Asheville.
Mr. McConnell was born July 23, 1926 in Macon County, NC to the late John A. and Mae Moffitt McConnell. He was a lifelong farmer. Mr. McConnell was a Navy Veteran of WW II and a member of Moore's Grove United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Claire Howell McConnell, a son Danny McConnell and his wife Kathryn and a daughter Rita Hood and her husband Tim. Other survivors include a brother Charles McConnell and a sister Elizabeth McConnell. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
The family will have a private graveside service. A reception, in celebration of Mr. McConnell's life, will be held from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Bullington Gardens, 95 Upper Red Oak Trail, Hendersonville, off of Zeb Corn Road.
