Jack Luther McClung, age 77, fell asleep in the Arms of Jesus at the Elizabeth House, Friday, September 27, 2013.

Mr. McClung attended Pisgah Academy in Candler, NC and was a nursing graduate of Mountain San & Hospital School of Nursing in Fletcher, NC. He then obtained a Nurse Anesthetist Degree from Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. He worked for several years as a nurse anesthetist in NC, VA & TN. He had worked the last 20 years of employment with Byers Precision Fabricators of Hendersonville, NC until he retired. He was a member of Upward SDA Church in Flat Rock, NC.
Mr. McClung is preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Padgett Stokes; his loving stepfather, William Stokes; father, Joe Luther McClung; sisters, Mary I Stokes & Clara Ann McClung; and stepbrother, Richard Stokes.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary McClung; son, Jerry & wife Patty McClung; daughter, Cindy Dabaibeh; grandsons, Jesse & wife Shelli McClung, Cody & wife Erika McClung, and Dylan & wife Kristin McClung; brother, Will & wife Ruby McClung; stepsister, Sallie Carol & husband Jerry Dixon; brother-in-law, Roger & wife Shirley Byers; sisters-in-law, Jody & husband Terrel Grant, Pam & husband Tom Sumner and Louella & husband Dan Suttles; aunts, Mary Ellen Padgett & Rugh Eller of California; and numerous nieces & nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Elizabeth House for their tender care, compassion & kindness. Also a very special "thank you" to Jack's good buddy and family doctor, Randy J. Tryon, MD.
A memorial service will be held at the Upward SDA Church, Flat Rock, NC, on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Upward SDA Church in memory of Jack.
