TUXEDO-Grace Spicer Ballard, of Tuxedo, our beloved mother, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 21, 2014. A native of Henderson County, Grace was the daughter of the late Pierce and Rintha Spicer of Edneyville.
Grace is survived by her daughters Vickie Ballard and husband Mike Melton of Shelby, Linda Ballard and husband Tim Lunsford of Dana, her son Brian Steven Ballard, and her special friend Tommy Pace of Tuxedo; grandchildren Michael R. Freeman, Erin Lunsford and husband Joe McCraw, great granddaughter Piper McCraw and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husband Boots Ballard, sister Doris Spicer Childres and brother Boyd Spicer.
Grace loved her family, friends, and her Boston Terrier Bucky. Her favorite season was fall and she loved to sew, read and crossword puzzles.
The family would like to thank Pastor Roy Perry, the late Dr. William Burch, the Tuxedo Baptist Church, Angie Crummie and her staff at Mountain View Assisted Living.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday April 24, 2014 at Thos. Shepherd's Church Street Chapel with burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials in her memory be made to Tuxedo Baptist Church.
